Il nous a semblé utile de profiter de la venue en Europe d’une des personnes les plus compétentes dans le domaine de la sécurité sur OS/400 pour améliorer encore nos connaissances en la matière.

Cette manifestation se déroule à Bruxelles en quatre sessions le mardi 15 et mercredi 16 février 2005. Nous vous proposons d’assister aux deux premières sessions du mardi en notre compagnie, mais vous êtes libres d’assister en temps que membre du club Luxembourgeois à l’intégralité des sessions.

Common Luxembourg n’organisera cependant le transport que pour la journée du 15 février (départ aux environs de 07h00, retour 19h00). Pour ce déplacement, nous souhaitons évidemment une inscription qui devra nous parvenir le plus tôt possible.

Carol WoodburyCarol Woodbury is co-founder of SkyView Partners (www.skyviewpartners.com) a firm specializing in security consulting, remediation services and security assessments, including the risk assessment product, SkyView Risk Assessor for OS/400 and i5/OS. Carol has over 14 years in the security industry, 10 of those working for IBM's Enterprise Server Group as the AS/400 Security Architect and Chief Engineering Manager of Security Technology.

This session will discuss the foundation points of OS/400 Security, the resources you have available to help you understand general and OS/400 security concepts as well as some tips and techniques for managing security. Whether you are a security novice or expert, this class will provide you with new information.

February 15 Afternoon : Top Issues Facing OS/400 Administrators
Today Based on her experience at IBM, consulting with business partners, consulting with her clients and her overall knowledge of the security industry, Carol will discuss the top security issues facing OS/400 Administrators and the various options for resolving them. Carol will also discuss the topic of business risk and how it relates to security

February 16 Morning : A Step by Step Approach to Implementing Object Security
Given the regulations in effect today, almost every company has a file or application whose access needs to be controlled. However, discussing the topic of object level or resource security is intimidating to most system administrators. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that difficult. This class will discuss using object security to protect your data from unwanted access. Introduction to Single Sign on with OS/400 and i5/OS For the first time, single sign on is achievable in and affordable for most OS/400 or i5/OS shops! This session will describe single sign on concepts, planning for single sign on and tips for configuring single sign on.

February 16 Afternoon : Lab – Performing a Security Analysis of your iSeries System Security is more than just system values !
To ensure that your iSeries system is secure and remains that way, OS/400 must be examined in its entirety and on a regular basis. This lab draws on the experience of Carol Woodbury and SkyView Partners and provides you with their methodologies and tips for examining and analyzing the security configuration of OS/400.

Cette session, d'un contenu exceptionnel par sa clarté et par la qualité de l'information présentée, à permis aux 60 participants (dont 15 membres de Common Europe Luxembourg) de remettre à niveau leur connaissances en matière de sécurité sous OS/400 et i5/OS.
